Mrs Birgit Mueller-Winkler

Birgit is a highly trained and experienced physiotherapist from Germany, who joined the clinic in June 2007 having moved to London with her husband and two children in 2006.

She believes strongly in a fun, holistic approach to treating children. She has a particular interest in treating children with developmental delay and neurological disorders, such as cerebral palsy, and co-ordination difficulties.

She graduated "sehr gut" (the equivalent of distinction) from Bayreuth and Straubing in 1991. Since then she has specialised in paediatrics, working in orthopaedic, rehabilitation, neuropaediatric and outpatient centres. Over the last five years Birgit has also lectured in physiotherapy for four years at university hospitals in Frankfurt and Wuerzburg, Germany, as well as being on the clinical supervision and examination board.

Birgit has considerable experience in neuro-developmental therapy (NDT Bobath) and completed her paediatric Bobath course in 1999 and the refresher course in 2005. She is also fully trained and experienced in the use of Vojta method for reflex locomotion, having completed intensive training in 1995.

Birgit is also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP).

Fluent in German and English, Birgit is very pleased to join the international therapy team at Kiki's Children's Clinic.
