Encouraging children to take charge of their daily routines and responsibilities
Occupational Therapy
At Kiki’s Children's Clinic, our Occupational Therapy services are designed to help children and young adults develop the skills necessary to navigate everyday tasks with confidence and independence.
We focus on enhancing children’s ability to participate fully in daily life across home, school, and social settings. Through personalized therapy, we assist children in overcoming challenges, fostering independence, and boosting their confidence so they can thrive in all areas of life. Our mission is to empower each child to reach their full potential, making life easier and more enjoyable for both them and their families.
Our team is trained to help children with a variety of needs:
-
Sensory Processing Issues: Assisting children in organising and responding to sensory information, such as touch, sound, and movement, which affects how they experience and react to their environment
-
Motor Skill Difficulties: Developing the ability to use small muscles, particularly in the hands, for precise tasks such as writing, drawing, handwriting, dressing and coordination.
-
Neurological Conditions: Supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Cerebral Palsy, and other developmental delays.
-
Emotional and Behavioural Regulation: Assisting children in managing anxiety, emotional responses, and social interactions.
-
Developing Hand-Eye Coordination for Play: Enhancing the ability to coordinate visual input with hand movements, which is essential for activities like catching, building, and playing with toys.
-
Mastering Self-Care Tasks: Helping children develop independence in daily tasks such as dressing, eating, and personal hygiene through improved motor skills.
-
Visual Processing: Improving the brain’s ability to interpret and make sense of visual information, which is critical for tasks like reading, navigating, and recognising patterns.
-
Executive Functioning: Supporting cognitive skills that enable planning, memory, flexible thinking, multi-tasking, and self-control over concentration and attention
I am so grateful to Kiki's clinic for the help and support they have offered my son over the last two years. He has been receiving weekly Occupational Therapy and both his fine and gross motor skills have really improved as well as his overall physical confidence. His concentration skills have also dramatically improved and he thrives from each session. The therapists have been a great support and provided very helpful advice for activities at home to support his sessions.
