Social skills groups address social and emotional skills that impact behaviour, social interaction and learning. The groups provide a safe environment to stimulate the child, to test their behaviour, and to help them develop tools to modify their behaviour.

Skills addressed include

  • Listening and conversation skills
  • Self expression
  • Reading

Children from the age of 4 years will be accepted and grouped according to their skills and age (min 3/max 7 children per group).  A questionnaire will need to be completed which may need to be supported by a 1:1 assessment to determine strengths and needs and suitability for the group programme.
